Been working through various ways to run a #Bitcoin #Lightning node. Here are some footnotes / recommendations:

For the non-technical (EZ MODE): nostr:npub15klkdfx9sh3y096a5jf895rcvkmkzvly2fm9dgxq6huqhp9576jsav4m73 (https://voltage.cloud)

****

- Cloud hosted

- Pay with #Bitcoin (Roughly $12/mo for lite node)

- For a personal (non-routing) node their "lite node" is more than sufficient

- #Nostr integrations (NIP-05 & lightning address)

For the moderately technical: nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct (https://getumbrel.com)

****

- Self-hosted (can run on raspi)

- Offers both Core-Lightning & LND (go with LND to start)

- Tailscale is integrated, making everything work really fast (tor sucks)

Option#2 for moderately technical: nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll (https://start9.com/)

- Same benefits as Umbrel, but more security minded.

- 2nd place because the only option is to use tor, which is slow and leads to a bad user experience

For the technical folks: Homelab w/ everything installed on a Linux server.

****

- You can build whatever stack you want.

I will post about my setup in a future note. I want to let the dust settle and use it for a while to be certain that it is solid. (Homelab w/ Proxmox + Umbrel / LND / Thunderhub / Lightning Terminal / Voltage Flow)
