If you are a privacy preacher 😜 .. first thing you should do is get rid of your smart phone - for good ! .. then remove all PCs , smart speakers , smart TVs .. might as well disconnect internet ! ..

There is absolutely no need to retreat to a jungle :-)

Cash and Postal service are literally the apex of privacy ..

You can post from any postbox ..no need to even have an address let alone hide it .. and you can send cash in an envelop ! ..

I wouldn't mind #zaps though 😂 .. feel free !

Not sure where this idea that privacy means being a complete ghost came from.

Privacy just means the ability to selectively reveal information to different parties.

I'd prefer that Google (and other tech companies) not harvest and sell my most intimate data.

Fortunately I am in a situation where this is not life or death, but for many people in this world, it is.

privacy is sovereignty over one's personal data

it's a bit like money in that trusted third parties can abuse you, and there is whole systems of funnels and conspiracy to herd people into trust vulnerability specifically to abuse them, whether it's spooks or advertisers

the modern statutes of governments are actually fraud anyway (they are statutes, and you have to be an agent of the issuer of statutes to be bound by them) it wasn't even that long ago that you didn't need a passport or ID, they just slowly normalised that with driver's licenses and student IDs and such like, corporate fascist fraud that by accepting these registrations you are then effectively an unpaid agent of the state, which is not what they openly say to you but that's what they impute by the way they drag you into courts over offenses against their rules, when it used to be you would only be in a court in a case where some other person was claiming you harmed them

they make their rules so byzantine it's almost impossible to really fight back and by their rules you admit to being subject to their laws and then they have you

this is why i stay the fuck away from large populations full of people who have been duped by this scam and even help the racket continue with their stupidity and snitching

That's is why cash and postal service :-) .. good old public services ..

In free market you can't force a private corporation to meet your needs ! If you don't like , don't use !

Did you notice people whose life and death is hinged on privacy are actually the most verbose public figures !

And they are the ones who want to embed privacy into public networks such as bitcoin and nostr !

I was referring more towards journalists and dissidents under oppressive regimes. I do see the hippocrisy of public figures touting privacy. It has become a marketing buzzword.

The reality is that privacy is not binary, there is no "you're now private" or "this wallet/software is private" it's much more nuanced and relies heavily on how these tools are used and audited.
