Some performance art for the nostriches out there.

This is from our practice space here on Oahu. Not a perfect rendition of my art, but an insight into the practice and #proofofwork that goes into creating fire performances.

These tools are called Dragonstaffs, and they are a relatively new fire performance tool created in this century(post 2000). There aren’t too many people out in the world performing with two at the same time, which is known as a “double dragonstaff” performance.

Fire performance here on Oahu holds a special place in my heart, with the islands connection to Pele, and the center of Mother Earth. It’s a unique place to embrace the duality of fire, and it’s role in the creation and destruction of our fragile home-world.
