It didn't work and now I reinstalled Umbrel and have to re-download the blockchain again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

that's sad.. did you figure out why?
The error was that the SSD enclosure was giving errors with Start9 so it could not initialize. Another person posted the same on their GitHub but the answer was "we don't support DIY installs". Since everything works flawless with Umbrel I just went back to it.
