Right now we’re just testing dummies and we are getting a huge bargain. For wide adoption to happen this won’t scale. Relays will have to be subsidized with some sort of sponsorship model or revenue split with companies who use the relay services.

Yep! That could work. Fountain already does splits and this model could just extend to relays.
I would be okay with a fair zap split.
I think many would. And the amounts don’t have to be huge if you set every zap to split. Little bit by bit adds up!
