It's interesting to notice fiat money impact on the gaming industry, with a shit ton of layoffs within the last 18 months or so.

During the pandemic the low interest rates and lockdown policies created a bubble for demand and development of games. Studios massively increased and so did the production of new projects.

Now with the stay-at-home-money gone, higher interest rates and cost of living going through the roof layoffs and downsizing are inevitably happening.

Yet, games media mostly portraits this as greedy capitalism issues. At most there's the rare mention of increased interest rates but no blame is put on government policies.

A tale as old as time.
