Yeah I see what you mean. If nostr does take off I expect regular people would probably donate in a similar way to how they already donate to content/use buymeacoffee. Weekly/monthly, on releases for certain content from people they want to support.
I think it's just early days.
Social media is meant to be social lol. So if someone asks wg what kind of fish is this? And someone knows 'oh it's a good fish' there's no need to be sending $0.50 for the answer. You know just interacting with people might be fun lol. Bluesky/twitter havent succeeded because of tipping culture.
Likewise... If someone asks me to Photoshop something I might just do it for my own amusement/ 'the culture' / the lolz. I wouldn't expect a tip. I just wouldn't do it if it wasn't fun or something. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
