Paid relays + our filter + a few spam filtered public relays (like nostr.mom) should help you find a new global!

Ended it with a . Sigh, bad clients.
I followed the steps and paid for nostr.wine before following the relay. Still seeing a bunch of spam on global, so I need to reduce some of my other relays?
Welcome! Yes, or use a client that allows more granularity for individual relay settings. We can’t change what you’re bringing in from other places.
Thanks! Hmmm, makes sense. Okay, any tips on how to isolate the relays that might be bringing in a bunch of garbage?
Snort.social let’s you view global by relay. Amethyst has great individual relay settings on android. Damus testflight build does as well.
Thanks again, last follow up. I’m on Damus TestFlight and am filtering my relays. Can I just only filter ‘on’ the two nostr.wine relays and still see everything from global that I otherwise would, just now filtering out the garbage?
The way global queries on our filter work is to only pull events from your follows+their follows network (filtered). When your client requests a note, a profile, available direct messages, or a channel, we pull all of the available related content from our aggregator (unfiltered).
You won’t see *everything* from that public relay, but you’ll see a wide enough network to fully populate your global feed. If you have a very large follows+their follows network, we randomly sample from it each time you refresh your global feed.
Thanks for all the info!
Checking out now, thanks!
