On Seedphrases:

Does using a passphrase lead to a higher/better entropy when creating a key? πŸ”‘

I mean does it help if a machine tries to find your key, that won’t scan for seed phrases but for 256bit keys itself? πŸ€–

Or is the entropy the same on the level of the key and it is only a safety add on on the seed phrase level if someone finds the 24 words? πŸ€”

Nice, exactly what i was looking for πŸ™βš‘οΈ

You are correct. The key itself has a maximum security of 128-bits (although the key itself has a length of 256-bits)

This means that the passphrase is merely a 2nd factor to help with security in meat space but does not improve the underlying security.

It’s really fascinating how that safe storage hole gets deeper and deeper when you dive into it 🀯
