Nests don't get announced until 3 people join.
It is extremely difficult for a new person to come to Nostr and know what to do to get started.
Which ACTIVE accounts to follow.
Which hash tags to use to be seen.

#zapathon When explained this makes new people excited usually. But few get that far.

Adding a few more relays is helpful.
Getting people onto a nest 🪺 nest ASAP! This is an extremely under used tool. Even Nostr people don’t use enough.. do you still have to have 3 to start a nest? This is a critical failure. Bots could start I know, people will recognize bots and leave or see and never join. Real Nostr people will go into rooms with other real people.

Yes sir. I know, I am just suggesting that this makes it a lot more work for people to open a nest.
I realize it is to keep bots from opening.
But if there are 20 nests open for example (usually only zero to 3) people can pick a real person they want to talk to.

Maybe keep the “announced” part the same.. when 3+ people are in a nest.
The way it is currently unless someone sends a note or a DM nobody knows someone is trying to start a nest.

Most don’t. It’s one of the absolute best features of Nostr.
Search under: Nest
You will see a place that shows available nests.. usually zero active nests but get two more people at the exact same time and you can enjoy it as well.
