Idk. I don't have a degree and doing pretty good. Once you have that first job most companies won't care. The trick is getting that first job. I did a bunch of personal projects and put them on my website and that helped me get my foot in the door. It's been almost 4 years since I got that first job and now I really think it looks like a positive that I don't have a degree in interviews

Interesting. I’d love to hear more about your experiences in interviews post 1st job, and why you feel not having a degree might’ve been an advantage, just out of pure curiosity.

Personally, I want the degree for me. Ive done really cool stuff in my life, and I’m Sr. at my job, and happy. But, in my family education was a big deal, and I dropped out of HS after 9th grade and took the GED. Scored high enough for a free ride, and passed it up. I was working full time as a dev at 14, and thought I had life figured out. 🤣

I regret not taking the opportunity on a personal level. The accomplishment of a high-level degree just bothers me personally. Honestly the best devs i’ve worked with in my life had similar stories to mine, so I totally agree it’s no indicator of success. ❤️
