I've made it through 6 hours of editing for my next album. This is from two days of recording in August. These were group recordings, now I have the solo instruments to listen through which is about 3 hours. Then I have my own parts, about 3 hours. Finally the vocal parts another 3 hours. Then I need to put them all together, while constantly thinning down the mix. I'm certain when it done it will be more than a little original. It's a good thing I love this. The edits are ruthless, shooting from the hip. It's a bit like chiseling a stone for a statue. I find that if I second guess myself the project will take a decade.

#Building …And good luck with it!

Thanks!

There's a reason none of my projects are public. I get so far and then second guess everything and want to bin it all

That can happen. I'm preparing a workshop for cultivating creativity, and finishing the project(s). Partly for people with the second guess problem, partly for those who can't find the time and inspiration lining up, as well as several other angles.

And one thing for the second guessers is just put it out- there will be more opportunities to make the next one even better. Another strategy is to produce as much as possible in a given time, the choose a number of them to be the best you've made and release/show them.

May you complete all your works!

Awesome, can't wait to hear it!
