Life didn't bless me with kids and at my age I'm reluctant to start now. I don't want to be in my late 60's when my kids reach their 20's.

Why not?

I don't think there's an argument that'll win for either case, IMO, just curious.

It's just me plus I don't want to have kids just to have kids. For me that would come with having the right partner and environment to give my kids the childhood they deserve. So at my age, this is a challenge.

I also had a girlfriend who had two kids not long ago and the joy having those kids in my life was probably one of the most memorable experiences I had in my life. I wasn't sure if I had what it would take to care for a family and I found out that apparently I do. Unfortunately the relationship didn't last.

So yes, I believe I may have reached the cut-off age. By desire, or life's plan, it is what it is.
