I live (relatively) near Wallace. It is indeed cool, but the it's also hella creepy. Most people who live there are the descendants of the prostitutes who used to service the miners in the area. There is some dark stuff in that town.

It is definitely creepy. I have some friends who have tried to "adopt" the town as best they can, bought businesses & whatnot... an attempt to salvage whatever life & reputation it may have left. Some of the stories are not things I would want in my neighborhood, that's for sure. But its such a beautiful area.
Cool, I'm glad to hear that! It's been a while since I've been there, but there are definitely a few cool businesses catering to skiiers headed up to White Pass.
