Our herd of birds get anything and everything tossed in their area and they choose what they want to eat, the rest gets mashed into the soil and adds nutrients. Nothing is wasted.
I was amazed at how much food we were throwing away once I started paying attention. Now food scraps go to the chickens! Will be adding pigs once we get out on the new place.
