Good video. I love cathedral vs. bazaar analogy for Bluesky vs Nostr.

My non-technical view of this is that Bluesky might have a quicker early growth spurt because it feels more familiar to Twitter refugees, but Nostr has the longterm advantage because it attracts more people who are here specifically FOR THE DECENTRALIZATION and not because they hate Elon Musk or whatever.

I don’t think Twitter is going anywhere anytime soon. It will likely remain a big, influential network unless and until someone removes Elon from leadership and tanks the company or he simply loses interest and lets the censorship blob take control again or the state goes full-on authoritarian against the social media companies (all possible).

As long as Twitter remains dominant, it seems like it’s going to be hard for what at the moment looks and acts like a Twitter clone with fewer users to compete. Nostr, on the other hand, has a totally different feel because it’s built by and for people who want to resist control and surveillance, which is ultimately the point of cryptography and decentralization. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4c9oy9QQNEc&feature=youtu.be

Way more use cases for nostr - not limited to Twitter replacement.

Technology rarely wins as a copy replacement for anything, it has to be a significant improvement over the thing it replaces and bsky is already failing in that aspect imo.

I came here because I hate Elon, but yes I'm staying for the decentralization.

Man one word #zap

Lol. That is the simpler explanation, true.

Bluesky and Nostr are both moving society toward freedom. One through fear, the other through fun.
