Technological innovation is what enables greater productivity and growth from limited (scarce) “material and energy throughput.”

The de-growth movement has no concept of innovation. Which is baffling, because the prosperity of their societies—the fact that they themselves are not dying from malnutrition, preventable diseases, or childbirth, but are able to write books about “degrowth”—is entirely a function of the raised floor created for them by centuries of technological innovation.

I wonder why degrowth theorists and evangelists have such a small popularity / short lifespan in any underdeveloped country.

Damned Darwinism! 😂

That said technological innovation can also be a bitch.

Scary, destabilizing, dangerous, even deadly for humankind if not managed carefully and thoughtfully. (See Nuclear Energy,, AI, Bio/nanotech, Climate engineering)

Technological progress in order to become material progress must be always accompanied by a broad spiritual and intellectual evolution of our specie. Awareness and prudence are paramount on the frontiers of science. As well as widespread education among its users.

Civilization is not only a function of technology.
