At the end of 2023 my work "La pubilla de Lloret" was premiered. This is a sardana, the mational dance of Catalonia that follows its own rules ans is interpreted by the cobla, a peculiar group of instruments with some interesting ones. The double bass use to have three strings and it's called "la berra", then there are two tenores and two tibles that are doible reed instruments with a very unique and powerful sound. Also there is a valve trombone, trumpets, fiscorn... Well, you can take a hear.

Let me know if you like it, if you knew about sardana... And have a nice day

Utterly fantastic! Zapped you!

Many thanks Nick!!

Last year I was in Mexico for a couple of weeks and went to a show of dance and music about the history of the country. There are some similarities.

Oh, maybe there's some connection. I'll write it down into my agenda of things to look for.

Conquistador perhaps?

That I was thinking. I'm not sure about the participation of catalans then, the most of the conquest were made by castilians, at that time, but it's more than possible; even being separate kingdoms, there were people going here and there all the time on the peninsule

There's instruments are new to me so I've nothing to compare to but I enjoyed what I heard. Nice to see something a little different round here.

Thanks for the time Rassclasrt!
