#[0] opening this separately from the other discussion as this is quite unrelated, but would be a cool idea and I’m kinda doing something like this already but not as cool:

A cooler but way more out-there idea, if nostr could act like a DNS SRV-type record for service-handler discoverability, nostr clients could query my follow list for a recommended list of services that are compatible with a certain kind

1111 = made-up “kind-handler” kind

"kind": 1111,

"content": "zapstr music player",

"tags": [

[ "k": 31337 ],

[ "url": "https://zapstr.com/a/" ]

{"kinds": [1111], "authors": [], "#k": [31337]}

Tl:dr: use nostr to get handlers for unknown things

“What music app can I use”

“What photo service app can k use”

“What auction site can I use”

Asked directly, transparently, to your follow list, the client you’re using could sort out the responses and present the most popular among your follow list

if I understand an app finder like https://sps.bio/ it is for people, right?

I think it means that nostr clients could try to figure out which web/mobile apps each user prefers to use to open each file content or link or music. CMIIW

This is indeed very cool and I want it.

Yep. Cool idea 😎

I don't fully understand this, but I 100% support it
