It was popping up here on Nostr from time to time how some people could only use crypto there. I've also seen some news about more and more countries adopting crypto officially like El Salvador. Did I misunderstand the situation and exaggerated the reality?

The average person in high-inflation countries in South America cares more about the US dollar than bitcoin, in fact most people have no idea what bitcoin is and the majority of those who do are into "crypto trading" or stablecoins and almost nobody holds their private keys
Yes, there is more adoption than in other countries but it's a tiny minority
