I think Nostr fits good in a way that it will grow thanks to several different front ends, I have the feeling it will be mostly small groups like you mentioned here. As it is possible to create relays which filter out other relays, I imagine it to be possible to create front ends which basically show just the small group feed, then eventually, if one wish to see the entire network, one can add relays which show all the posts..
So, if accidentally there will be no chance of having a small environment on Nostr, it means that some sort of centralisation has taken over it, in which case I would not feel comfortable anymore and I would fork it 🤣❤️❤️❤️ I love Nostr and the plebs !!
