No they don't lol

They think they do until they actually see what dev is like 🫠

This has been my experience for people learning how to Dev too. It's a skill that has been romanticized.

Maybe GPT and Copilot will change this some, but I kind of doubt it.

hahaha, yeah, that's what I'm thinking

It was, as a prototype was being built for presentation purposes on after hours.

Although the Monday to wake up to seeing change the code is quite satisfying.

- stares at screen for 5 minutes

- types 20 characters

- repeat

- build and/or tests fail

- stares at screen for 5 minutes

- types 20 characters

……

I usually just stare into the void for 20 minutes, then write code, then curse, then stare into the void for 25 minutes, then write for five minutes... rinse and repeat πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚ so true

Now I also have ChatGPT and copilot just inventing methods that don't exist in my workflow, which is nice

pretty wild how effective ChatGPT is as a coding helper. I’ve been using the hell out of it for tedious/annoying code generation and basic code snippets

No more date bullshit πŸ€—

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’―

I do all my coding on my phone. It’s nice to shake the hell out of your phone when something doesn’t work. Maybe if I enable undo with a shake gesture, it might actually help my code.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s one way to do it

Accurate description of my average day πŸ˜‚

Relatable. I also type maybe 10% of the time I code. A game changer for me was to start drawing and sketching when confused by an algorithm or a particular data structure. I have afantasia and can’t really visualize stuff if I don’t do this. I bet it helps in general.

yes

Lol new project possibilities go for it

I would very much so like this! Especially if we are able to interact with the developer through live chat (nests)

The zaps would be following!

Maybe if there's another person in the room making interesting or silly commentary while the dev codes away. πŸ˜‚

The rate of mistakes is directly correlated with the number of people watching me.
