I never really *got* the specific relay thing, until I tried Jumble.

I guess I never considered that you could kinda do both.

I can still view and post to the public square (ie. the popular relays I'm setup to use), but I could also create a private/more focused realy - and I can just switch back and forth.

Now I just need nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 to allow me in to his Pyramid relay and I'll be set... πŸ‘€

I'm only just using jumble more now, and it is interesting how having relay options at the forefront does change things.

what benefits are there to isolating down to a specific relay or relays? genuinely curious

You need to find relays that do something specific to find a use for this. There aren't that many of these tho.

I think there's probably a bunch of different use cases, depending on how its setup.

The most simple use case would be having a "private" relay for only certain people, to maybe only talk about a certain subject. In this scenario, only certain keys could Read or Write to the relay.

Or, the relay could just be readable to anyone, but only certain npubs could write to it - almost like a "quality filter"

Or, the relay could capture only certain types of content. For example, I've seen one that only displays short notes under a certain character limit. And another one that only shows posts from news bots.

I think there is not a single way to use this, tbh.

I just added you, but now please start sending your notes there. Pyramid is so empty these days. Most people allowed there are not publishing to it.

My life goal is to join pyramid

But you said Wikistr is infected with global view syndrome. That was offensive.

It’s a hard problem. And there is no particular reason you should listen to me anyways. Except that you should listen to me asking to join pyramid.

TY! I added it to my relays, will post to it moving forward.

Although, Jumble is no longer loading the feed from it this eve, and I'm pretty sure there were 502 errors in the browser console, maybe some CORS errors too, but I think that would be a Jumble issue maybe. πŸ€”

I took it offline for some minutes to fix yet another horrible bug.

I make sure to always leave a ton of bugs in the code so I can feel better for fixing them later after 2 years.
