nowhere near similar since there is no consensus, so mostly each dev does kinda whatever the hell they want to but trying to be interoperable with everybody because it's in everybody's self-interest

that's why I'm (still) concerned about superapps until we are properly well-developed; a superapp with enough userbase can do whatever the hell it wants regardless of interoperability and fuck things up for everybody
