Got an email from a co-worker:
“What do you know about XRP/XLM”
I was polite, what would your response be?

Issa trap

"Scam."
Both are scams. But if you want to trade them, look at the chart denominated in BTC, log scale.
That was one of my points
I'd reply with the laughing 😅 for sure.
#BTC #Zap #Nostr #Bitcoin
"It's some companies tokens. It's like shares but they don't have any real products. People gamble on the price of these. Maybe you could get some money out of gambling too but you risk losing everything. I would save money with bitcoin instead."
“Used to have some, then I realised my mistake and sold it all for more bitcoin”

Is say I know enough to make smart decisions on it and let's chat in person about it. Educate on what ripple succeeds in doing, then the tradeoffs, and finally why Bitcoin does it better and already solved those tradeoffs.
I said I was not extremely familiar and then listed why. I then sent the sailor series
Tell it to ask chat gpt
"There is no second best"
Banker coin. Same system different speed. No advancing of freedom.
ripple is a scam and has multiple pending issues with regulators
My neighbor wants XRP and doesn't care about BTC revolution, ideology etc. Showed him the XRP/BTC chart, doesn't care, wants fiat gains. So... I helped him get set up with an exchange, got a hardware wallet and told him "You're making a big mistake but I'll allow you to make it".
There's been a few moments where the light turned on and I could tell he's now viewing XRP as a shitcoin gamble.
Moral of the story: Don't write off people who are curious, lead and encourage them the best you can and allow them to make mistakes. Remember, most Bitcoin OG's burned their fingers on shitcoins before understanding bitcoin. It's still a rite of passage for many.
