How are they any different than religious people? Both believe without verified evidence. It’s all trust without verification.

Religion has thousands of years of empirical evidence to show that it produces stable societies.
Atheism is the new experiment people trust without verifying, and so far it has mostly showed that without God people put the state where God should be.
Religious people generally accept that they have a religion that can't be proven by science. Its the people who don't realize what they believe is a religion that have an issue.
