People are really underestimating the impact of AI. They think of it as something similar to the industrial revolution, but it's fundamentally different, very different. Don't know what to expect.
Same miscatagory is happening with Bitcoin; they try to see it through the lens of what is or has beenā¦and itās, as you said, fundamentally different.
Also "Crypto" has been the worst thing to happen to Bitcoin, it has confused many ordinary people.
I stand behind my perspective from the past very years that shitcoins and the whole VC parade and digital Vegas thing is the biggest tool And attack vector to date. I internally questioned intentions and their sources and it seemed conspiratorial at best. But then I realized the pervasive use of misinformation and ignorance when it comes to intentional manipulation , mass or individual, so yeahā¦
Long story short I think itās coordinated attack
The only thing that scares me is centralized control over AI. Thankfully we have a growing open source AI community.
Anyone else noticed that AI has taken some of the heat off bitcoin? š
I suspect the motives of the authors. Sounds more self-serving to attract regulations so they can keep the open source and competition away.
OpenAI is not open - ironic.
Canāt wait for the āsuperintelligenceā that determines the narrative which shall not be questioned, because who would be dumb enough to doubt a āsuperintelligenceā. No longer will we need academia, weāre done with startups, done with research, only AI-think. Outsource all of your thinking to our most perfect walled garden.
You might be surprised when the AI is similarly concerned only with climate change, plant based products, and equality. It will spew the most boring bullshit youāve ever heard and be touted as the greatest event since the steam engine.
This is tricky stuff.
On one hand, I agree that there needs to be some cooperation so things donāt get out of control, BUT, I also think that if you give any of this power to governments, they will abuse it. āØāØWe saw what happened with Nuclear energy. We should have been living in the nuclear-rich future but instead here we are. You can imagine what government oversight and woke politicians will do to stifle progress and abundance in AIā¦
You KNOW itās in their best interest to keep it under control. An AI that makes most labor irrelevant and passes productivity gains to humanity is not compatible with the current global financial system. It only works beautifully under the bitcoin standard. āØāØI like to be positive about new tech, but my gut feeling is theyāll screw the shit out of everyone and appropriate powers like never before seen.
Just an average person in a AI convo.
If the democratic way is to do what the majority wants, it could end AI. Even academics don't want it. That they will have to focus on their main business. That their comfort will be disturbed. Even the most educated are bothered by AI (not all. the majority). It's not hard to guess what happens to the others. They will be unemployed, their power will run out...
Central planners want to centrally plan. They won't succeed, and they can only hurt society with their efforts.
nonsense
another psyop
not intelligent. nothing to do with intelligence
only faster fake news
Desperately front running the virtue signallers, to try and wipe your finger prints off the starter pistol.
Super intelligence doesnāt exist, and neither does AGI. But I suspect we donāt need either and that LLMās are enough to disrupt everything.
Think it may be too late to control it, better to help shape it imo
āSecond, we believe it would be unintuitively risky and difficult to stop the creation of superintelligence. Because the upsides are so tremendous, the cost to build it decreases each year, the number of actors building it is rapidly increasing, and itās inherently part of the technological path we are on, stopping it would require something like a global surveillance regime, and even that isnāt guaranteed to work. So we have to get it right.ā
They wonāt but collectively we will all adjust and adapt and evolve accordingly.šš
This except AI.šš¤š
Open AI finding inspiration in OPEC.
Unlike in oil production, the amount of actors who could deflect and undermine their dictate is several factors higher, and the potential benefits to deflect are virtually unlimited.
Very simple game theory - AI Cartel stands no chance.

The authors of that blog post are among the stupidest smart people I've ever experienced.
Looks like they want a centralized international authority. Why would we trust this centralized authority? Like pretty much all centralized structures itāll be corrupted. Decentralized and personal (not in the cloud) AI is what we need.
One day I hope you read my DM
