My theory at the moment:

Engaging with our own loved ones, or any human being in person requires so much learning and energy which is why so many folks have given it up.

I miss letters. Cards. Poems. Magazines. PHONE CONVERSATIONS. Pen pals. Greeting neighbors. Neighborhood or block parties. Quinceañeras. Weddings. Volunteering at soup kitchens. You name it.

A lot of people have given up most of the aforementioned due to either being too exhausted trying to just survive and "stay afloat;" have bought into the propaganda and programming of the system which has slow boiled us into the elimination of give and take heart-to-heart free exchanges, or BOTH.

The huge benefit of this for a centralized governed society is the lack of ability and even desire to organize and/or use our freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

We're easier to control if we CANNOT COMMUNICATE IRL and the "old fashion way". By consistently depending on a tech platform to engage in short-term, fleeting whispers that give us a short lived dopamine hit, we become the perfect cattle, the perfect dependent and dependable slaves.

I am honestly scared sometimes.

That's what Corny Chat is good for. Funny though, I never see many engagement farmers in there...
