Advice for newcomers to #bitcoin

Don’t use ledger or trezor

Buy all no-KYC sats from the beginning

Accumulate methodically & smash buy on red days if possible (there will always be fat red days)

Consolidate UTXOs as needed

Run a node

Think hard about how to store your seed phrase in a durable and truly hidden way. Have a backup. Your hardware is not a viable key storage option

Think of a way to provide value and earn sats P2P

Learn about Bitcoin adequately but don’t make it your personality. Consider rejecting influencer’s - they mostly just want to monetize you

Don’t obsess over price and accept that nobody knows what will happen short or medium term

Don’t trade

Don’t shitcoin

Have fun with Bitcoin and experiment with using it. Use Lightning. Feel the power of the stack

Meme if possible

Use #nostr and find your people

Remember that governments are criminal organizations and taxes are theft

Enjoy your life (it’s ending one minute at a time)

What HWW should one use then? Non KYC corn is really hard to get…

Can you briefly explain why Ledger is a no go, why you are making this recommendation please? I have been looking at their Flex product as a HHW. Thanks.

I don't like to mention nokyc. It often becomes a point of fixation that gets in way.

Love it. 🙏🙏🌅

Very well said. I echo this 100%

Someone tried to give me a Ledger Nano... I took great offense

I like your post, but can't agree on the advice against ledger or trezor. They are still hardware wallets, expecting a newcomer to properly setup a hot wallet is just crazy. Even if ledger sucks, it still can be used directly with electrum wallet (bypassing their garbage Ledger live software). I would advice ANY hardware wallet is better for a newcomer than a hot wallet.
