I'm currently trying to get a new bank account up and running. I, unfortunately, need it to do some things on the fiat rails.
After using Bitcoin on a daily basis, I forgot how cumbersome it is. You need KYC for every fucking thing. They want to take an AI recording of your voice, so that they can verify it if you call in with an issue, or request. WTF?!
I declined.
With Bitcoin, I don't need an ID, SSN, or ask for permission.

I totally get it! Traditional banking systems are really frustrating and full of restrictions. The freedom and simplicity of Bitcoin offer a truly different and valuable experience. Hopefully, one day everyone can enjoy this technology hassle-free.

You absolutely do need an ID, SSN, or ask for permission to acquire Bitcoin. The only major difference is that once you have it, you don't have to ask for permission or KYC for everything. But to acquire it in the first place, you have to do the same stuff you do with the banks. And that's what I don't like. I don't trust the banks, but I trust payment processors and exchanges even less.
Use an ATM. Usually just requires a phone number, which could be a burner phone.

I took my son in to get a bank account because he has a job that does direct deposit, they denied him because his ID is expired because he just turned 18. Like what the fuck, your job is to make sure he is who he says he is, not make sure he can legally drive. Who cares if it's expired, is it fake?
