Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. How will you track the data over time?
Just ordered some comprehensive labs from Marek Health...2nd year we've used them.
Then went the extra step and ordered nostr:npub1kyk7ac33apd7cx0nun3laevf84zfhr8pt8kj4h8v7cpx9t72d4gqkyea0g "Common Sense Labs: Blood Labs Demystified". I like what is listed in the Table of Contents and I trust Berry's knowledge.
Hoping to see reference ranges for all/most of the labs...then expect to immediately disregard them in favor of the OPTIMUM ranges.
I was more relaxed on my carbs in 2024 (mostly through berries and honey...but also occasional potatoes/rice/brussels sprouts). I am interested in seeing how that impacted both my ApoB and fasting glucose. I do tend to disregard my higher fasting glucose numbers because my fasting insulin tends to be excellent. Same goes with not being quite as concerned with higher LDL (and ApoB) when my ratios are excellent.
Of course I am getting these labs 1 day before the family has their big Christmas cookie baking day! I tend to pollute myself a bit more between
Thanksgiving and Christmas. I still eat well (and sleep/exercise)...but those freakin' cookies come calling to me every night.
Discussion
Labs like Labcorp and Quest have decent apps/portals for reviewing your labs, so it is easy to compare with prior years. Not worth it to put it in a spreadsheet and do the extra work, in my opinion.
Next year I might use Levels and get a CGM to wear for a month. Then I'll go through eating a number of things - in my normal diet as well as different indulgences - and get an idea of the ones that cause the biggest glucose variability.
I like to tweak to keep working on optimization. Of course, my one consistent indulgence is I do drink bourbon or red wine almost every day...not to excess, but my wife and I love to catch up our day with a drink.
This is awesome! Would you be interested in storing your health data on Nostr? We’re building health apps nostr:npub1healthsx3swcgtknff7zwpg8aj2q7h49zecul5rz490f6z2zp59qnfvp8p - let me know if you’d be open to chatting further…
