Notice that the guys in this thread talking about homemakers all reference their wives taking care of children.
This is the norm, for that stage of life. But I mean... instead of or afterward.
My youngest is turning 18 soon and nobody around us is a housewife, anymore. It is just not a thing, unless you have 10 kids and start getting grandkids while your own kids are still arriving, or something. And that's a statistical rounding error.
I mean, I don’t think women working should be expected or the norm…some women like working or want to, that’s fine. But I think societal expectations for women to go to college and have a career, are only good for pharmaceutical companies that make anti-depressants.
I'm not sure most men expect their wives to stay home after the children are gone.
