I can't believe that we're still not done counting all of the votes from the presidential election last month. Do we count all of these by hand after electronic counting? Lighthearted way of saying that outsourcing responsibility over elections work is like outsourcing responsibility over managing one's own bitcoin stack.
Better to improve the process internally than trust a "third party" (in this case, another country) to handle it for us. :)

sidenote : custody is not that bad .. as long as it is a service you pay for .. I mean I don't grow my own wheat !
Outsourcing various responsibilities is inevitable, for sure. But there are plenty of things that shouldn't be outsourced, or should not by wholly outsourced.
Also, there is a difference between wheat production and wheat custody. I buy my wheat from a farmer and take it home. I don't want him to grow it for me AND hold it for me.
