Mainly pools. Was looking at ck pool vs traditional solo mining and am realizing how much I don’t know about the whole thing. I knew I didn’t know much but now It’s really dawning on me how little I know.
I have 4 mining DATUM templates built by my nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll node getting paid sats over Lightning. What would you like to know?

No problem. By default the device is set to mine at Public-Pool.io, which only pays the lucky person who finds the block and has yet to find a block AFAIK. Ocean will pay you based on your efforts. Smaller pay but more frequently. DATUM allows you to make your own templates rather than using whatever the pool decides. One can choose a higher minimum difficulty than the pool, effectively targeting something between the frequent easy pay and the rare (once every 22,000 years) 3.125 BTC jackpot. DATUM effectively lets you play the $5 $10 $20 scratch offs.
Ok so I think for me the best choice would either be ocean or DATUM. I’m less concerned with making sats but I think it would be nice to experiment with it and help the network. And hey if I happen to get sats that’s just a bonus. Thank you for the advice.
For simplicity, I would start with making sure they work using the default Public-Pool. Once you see everything is working, then look into swapping to Ocean and getting the Lightning BOLT12 payouts working. After that, DATUM is the next step, and it works with the Ocean pool that you now have setup for Lightning payouts.
