Measuring in Monero is the same as measuring in fiat because the price of Monero is denominated in fiat.
It's the same picture because you don't change the unit of account by doing division.
Note: I said measuring the progression (over time). Of course they'll be identical at a fixed point in time. 😎
Over time though, what seems like a gain in fiat, could just be treading water, or even sliding backwards in Monero terms.
