What is everyone favorite science fiction novel ?

I haven't read too much of the genre .

I've read "Brave New World" and "The Day of the Triffids", and some other stuff I'm sure , nothing that imediately comes to mind .

I think that I really want to read that "We" book ( I think that is what it is called ) , although it's bad enough living in a dystopia without reading about another one.

The Three Body Problem trilogy by Cixin Liu is the best SF I have read by far.

Its slightly slow starting and not so easy to get into as the characters are chinese, but just magnificent.

Also fantastic, off the top of my head:

Rendezvous with Rama - Arthur C Clarke

Anathem - Neil Stephenson

Dogs of War - Adrian Tchaikowsky

Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikowsky

Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

How could I forget that I've read HHGTTG!!!!

😂 it’s old!

Island by Aldous Huxley

Counterclock World; Flow My Tears The Policeman Said; The Ganymede Takeover; Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep - Phillip K Dick

The Phase/Photon Series - Piers Anthony

Snowcrash - Neal Stephenson

Accelerando - Charles Stross

Silicon Embrace - John Shirley

Islands in the Net; Schismatrix - Bruce Sterling

Neuromancer; Count Zero; Mona Lisa Overdrive - William Gibson

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a trilogy in 5 parts; Dirk Gently's Detective Agency - Douglas Adams

Childhood's End; 2001: A Space Odyssey - Arthur C Clarke

Chaos Come Again - Wilhelmina Baird

One comes to town, Another leaves town; Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom - Cory Doctorow

I've read all these, all of them are great.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone !

I prefer series SF - Dune series and Discworld series are my favorites. Both have many titles.

Larry Niven is an author I haven’t thought about in years. Teleportation sidewalks.. still want those.

Kurt Vonnegut: Slaughterhouse 5, cat's cradle.
