For sure.

Some people will push through a level of friction.. but most won’t. And those that do will not engage with anywhere near the frequency as they would if ux was good.

It wasn’t until the hardware dramatically improved (post 07-08) and the UIs were massively SIMPlified before more casual users became tethered to devices and things really saw a fully mainstream level of adoption.
