there are many types of dust.
an abandoned house may contain things like:
- rodents and animals, dust
- rotting things like old wood, dust
- chipping paint turning to dust
- dirt blown in through a broken window, dust
etc.
and old dust that gets stirred up again.
in China where they mine cadmium, the tailings settle into man made ponds to settle, when they dry up, the cadmium blows into the air as dust. People living near by breathe it in and get cancer.
