Articles like this make me wonder whether bitcoin evangelists truly want the entire world to adopt bitcoin. There is just so much gatekeeping by bitcoiners that further perpetuates the idea that bitcoin is impractical and complicated. What average consumer who has no choice but to use their currency to provide their basic needs would read this article and view bitcoin as viable option for their current, daily financial needs?
Bitcoin will only be widely adopted once it’s as easy to spend as fiat money. Currently, for the average consumer, it is far easier to buy bitcoin than to spend it and that’s a major barrier to widespread adoption, and I’m not sure the ideas presented in the article provide solutions for this issue.
My understanding of the arguments presented in the article could be wrong, so please educate me.
