I do not think it is accidental that particular articles about #Bitcoin mining emerge now.

However maybe they are right about the water footprint used to mine #Bitcoin BUT the value of Bitcoin is so much more.

If people could see why Bitcoin matter and how beneficial it is to the world a lot would change ⚡️

What's the gist? I don't have time to read novice bitcoin mining opinions.

that Bitcoin mining uses more water than many countries. And that it’s bad for the environment etc

Thank you, but ...uh...WTF?

yeah I was saying the same thing 😂

Okay, I read the article now. This dude is a professor at my alma matter. I wan't my money back. 🤬

really?!? crazy tho that he has such a different view of Bitcoin compared to you. And also, we do know how many institutions look at Bitcoin

thank you :) this so interesting tho. An sad that the mainstream news channels fail to

mention that it is actually a peer reviewed scientific study. Prob hard to tell if it’s meant to be biased or not since we don’t know what’s happening behind the science but the way and when it’s put out says a lot about it

It’s not peer reviewed, it’s a commentary. The author also calculates everything at maximum theoretical levels and ignores any variables like immersion or water repurposing or how the energy is derived in the first place. Some of the comments left behind at The Verge’s article on the same subject make for some balanced reading:
