The same thing that hit Twitter/X is now hitting nostr, Fake accounts getting verified are tricking large quantities of people. Just like on Twitter/X when people pretended to be companies like PepsiCo Ect, while we want Nostr to be free and open, there’s also a lot of risk in this behavior. I mean, I would highly doubt that Bezos would be on Nostr this early, that's for sure.
Regardless, it's a free and open protocol, people can be who they want.
I judge the npub by the value they provide, not by the name of the person or non-person behind it.
So far anyway...
