Several new projects in recent months have been leveraging the layer-2 interoperability of Lightning and Liquid. During a recent discussion on our Blockstream Talk podcast, Christian Decker, who leads the Greenlight project, elaborated on the benefits of a Lightning over Liquid (LoL) network. He explained how it could be seamless with Lightning over #Bitcoin, allowing for improved scaling, onboarding and possibility of new use cases like stablecoin-denominated channels.

I'm still waiting for Lightning interoperability on Blockstream Green desktop. Until then I don't think I'll be using Liquid.

Green for liquid can't work privately, not a great look tbh for Blockstream. For example to open your wallet with the pin the app has to connect to a "jadepin" blockstream server, else you can't get to your wallet at all.

There's also 3-4 other servers the wallet needs to talk to in order to work properly, and that's beside the memory intensive electrum liquid server, which you can run yourself.

Quite a mess - it looks as though it would be easier (and better for users) if electrum wallet adopted liquid functionality if the sidechain became more popular among plebs.

please improve dex / cex adoption. swapping lightning btc with liquid btc on boltz is not ideal.

I'd be great for user privacy if Green didn't need to connect to all sorts of blockstream liquid servers apart from the liquid-electrs.

An electrum/sparrow style privacy centric (wallet <> personal electrs only) approach would be ideal.
