I see what you mean, but I think that community is still warming up to the idea of "crypto" anything since it doesn't really fit their existing mental models.

Crypto isn’t something people signup for a product for right. If we’re talking nostr, if it was easy to just install the app, build your profile and start interacting with others etc. People would use it no matter what’s the tech behind it. If crypto also allows zaps - that makes it even more appealing than any non web 3 platform available right now.
If you label a product “crypto” it may not mean much to anyone. Most of crypto doesn’t benefit people, nostr is the first product in crypto I come back to be using if we’re not talking about token transfer, dex etc.
