"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Specialization is for insects."

Just pass the butter 🤖

What is my purpose?

One of my favorites (both quote and author)

👀🤩

I just copied this from nostr:npub1pzzfy65fg2x9qg3astdwuml6k5uegwwz9yz3zjypru3u9a427ykqscg7h0, who was probably thinking about changing diapers when he wrote it.

I watched a guy once give a speech about if you want to make a lot of money, you have to learn to specialize. I of course agree with you. do your best to understand how the world works and understand how people think.

I think I agree with the guy, although he probably doesn't say how you will know in what you should specialize in order to make money.

The character from which this quote is taken, Lazarus Long, when given the opportunity to colonize a planet set himself up as the Central Banker. IF money is your scorecard then nothing beats control of the money printer. BUT, without the skills he listed above having only money you are at the mercy of those with these skills.

The goal here is full stack self sovereignty, which is what money is truly supposed to buy. Being at least competent in all these things then becomes a failsafe backup keeping one from becoming codependent on the servants whose lives money still buys.

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.”

by William Shakespeare

Butcoiners are best off when ALL of us become auto-didact polymorphs, self-taught across many fields. We must become cyber-MMA masters to truly level up and protect our identities, our data, and our wealth.

Heinlien, from time enough for love "intermission"

A favourite of mine, but this one from "friday" seems more apt for today's times...

"It is a bad sign when the people of a country stop identifying themselves with the country and start identifying with a group. A racial group. Or a religion. Or a language. Anything, as long as it isn't the whole population."

Exactly why would you specialize in anything when you have a llmost 100 Yeats on this planet. Why not try a million things? Get good at some be the best at others and most you'll be shit at. But you'll have a basic knowledge of it...idk

An idea as old as the Greeks, who preferred the notion of a multiclass character; one should be familiar with many things, and proficient in nothing.

add ‘self custody bitcoin’

That is a Heinlein quote I have built my life around. Another great one by him that all Bitcoiners can relate to is this one. I believe from Time Enough for Love, the notebooks of Lazerus Long. A great book all should read!

"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

Thank you for the book suggestion. Quote teared me up for sure. :)
