for multi device and email reach, PGP encrypted email is still a very secure solution if contacts can use PGP email

I need to learn how to do this.

It's not very hard. Lots of videos on open web search for your OS of choice. Pick a good email client with PGP features.

granted, email is not as good UX and speed as an actual instant/direct messaging app

Trouble zapping you friend.

Signal is 90% of my 1:1 comms.

Matrix. Your choice of server and app. Has e2ee. It's federated, interoperable, etc.

Element/Matrix is good for single identity on multiple devices, and especially private when using a home server instead of matrix.org services

And in the hole

Element

What bout Sessions?

Shitcoin innit?

Even Brave has it.

Session is a fork of Signal that no longer uses Signal protocol, losing all its great qualities: forward secrecy, post-compromise security and non-repudiation. In addition, while not fully centralised, it's practically impossible to host your own servers, and has a shitcoin built-in.
