Censorship on platforms like X

Usually some platform or another starts censoring people and they hear that can't happen on Nostr, so they hop over here to check it out. They find out that freedom requires a bit of work, and they leave again to some other easy, centralized platform that will invariably censor them in the future.

Those are bots you're looking at. Any bot can generate any number of new accounts.
