#Aqua wallet is not a real lightning wallet. It uses BOLTZ as backend to swap to liquid. If the app is not open when the payment is received, the payment will be stuck in a BOLTZ node for a few - 24 hours. It will eventually fail (and you will be able to issue a new invoice) or it will succeed and you will receive the payment. Either way, your funds are safe, but it's a hassle. Warn the newbies :)

#WOS #WalletofSatoshi is the way to go.

That is good to know. I don't know how I've never run into such an issue as I've been using them since they went open source. I'm USA, so WoS isn't an option unless you first explain the importance of VPNs, and I don't want to evangelize 20 different things to a noob 😅

Other lightning options would be lifpay or coinos. I chose aqua as you get the benefits of liquid privacy and sat merge before you send it to cold storage as one huge utxo. I also don't trust lightning as much as I use to.

I hear you. When the zombies are knocking you don't put your wife on the 249 and explain the manual of arms, you hand her the shotgun.
