i do peer review. yle is a little bit of a liar and cherry-picker :) she has an axe and grinds it well, with the oh-so-sweet innocence of the mommy-next-door. but with fancy science terms! and pretty pictures!
And get your flu shot. Outside of diet and exercise, which cannot be emphasized enough, it is the #1 thing you can do to prevent your risk of a heart attack. People who get the flu, are 6x more likely to experience a heart attack in the same year. Underlying infections and illnesses often trigger heart attacks due to the additional stress they place on the body. https://www.medstarhealth.org/blog/flu-shot-heart-attack
COVID shots protect you in the same way. If you have had the MRNA shots and had terrible side effects, look into Novavax. I was out 24 hrs w fever, two days of feeling yucky, from the MRNA shots, not even a sore arm with novavax. Studies show side effects are lower while maintaining the same effectiveness as the mrna shots. It's a failure of public health communication that most people do not know novavax exists. Rite-aids and Costcos tend to carry it (in the US), you do not need to be a costco member to use their pharmacy.
No. Just no. "infections...often trigger heart attacks" this is imprecise and value-less language. Of the MIs that occur, all of them are precipitated by something. Yet of the vast, vast number of viral illnesses that occur, very very very few of them result in an MI or ACVE. Stop trolling, please.
he'd need to be reverse-jointed for that to be a natural position
well that's dumb. ipfs is the bomb. better than #nostr in some respects!
hmmm
I think it's the other way around

A literal US intelligence agent working in digital censorship now chairs their board. Even if they weren't always compromised, they certainly are now.

For those who believe in a free and open Internet, Maher’s Signal role should be a flashing warning sign. As she once explained, she abandoned the mission of a free and open Internet at Wikipedia, because those principles recapitulated a “white male Westernized construct” and “did not end up living into the intentionality of what openness can be.” The better path, in her view, is managed opinion, using, alternately, censorship and promotion of dissent—depending on context and goal—as the essential methods.
We’re entering a dangerous period in political technology, and Maher is in the thick of it. Under her ideology, “Internet freedom” is a tactic, not a principle, and “fighting disinformation” means speech suppression, including here at home. When people tell you who they are, believe them.
Interesting idea… could be on to something here. I know a few people that have built little condos on the side of their homes where their parents live on the same property. Maybe we need to get back to multi generational households? https://video.nostr.build/4fa428d6267e60a59b1524aff488977086c439bb4a8683defa0194325c7b0baa.mp4
It's called an in-law apartment
That makes it better than your opinion, which is an inedible shitcoin...

Medium matters.
The accessibility of information translates into how sure folks feel about it. When having a theological discussion I can click, open a PDF, click click copy, click click paste, Hey chatgpt summarize 800 years of thought to refute this point that's wrong because X, cite the sources. It spits out a coherent and correct answer. And while I recognize that it's correct, I didn't recall the correctness. I feel more certain that I'm right. But I know less and have less skin in the game.
More effort --> more patience with eachother and slower arguments --> less emotional

I believe
- that believers are called to new obedience, yet this obedience is a fruit and evidence of saving faith, not the basis of our remaining in God’s love;
- that God’s moral law remains relevant, but it does not function as a new “means of staying saved”; and
- that God’s steadfast love toward His own in Christ is ultimately unconditional because it is rooted in His electing grace and Christ’s atoning work, not human merit
