any sysAdmin's here?

What do you use for a monitoring dashboard?

I have an 'ecosystem' that I want to monitor for things like uptime.

GPT suggests a few ways, but that includes using Google services

What about Grafana: https://grafana.com/

looks interesting, and tbh idk where to start with this. Is it a major thing? Look, I'm a small scale game dev studio so we don't have a lot of things running, but it's a lot to manage currently.

Is Grafana similar to n8n?

A lot of services already support sending data to grafana, you'd have to set up the dashboard and have the data send to your dashboard. To my knowledge its all open source. Has been years since I set up a dashboard though.

I'll give it a look

I would avoid Google services in any case.

Then it depends on what you want to monitor and the OS. usually UNIX systems come with plenty of tools you can use on the terminal, very useful to use from remote and avoid all the graphical crap

I'm a graphical person, I like to see "Online" and a little green dot 🤣

but in seriousness, I want to unify these tools into one dashboard. There are some API's for wordpress/woo/db etc. to use, and some others, but I don't know about server side set ups i.e. pinging the server or game services and getting a 200 okay or soemthing.

Then I'd have to consolidate that into one dashboard.

I did find freeboard, but it's quite rudimentrary
