Debating the importance of Bitcoin w a nocoiner is a waste of time, but they want so badly to do it. How do I extricate myself from the conversation without blatantly saying, “you don’t know shit and I am smarter than you on this subject by far, please stop.” It is akin to political discussions w people who watch CNN or Fox.

O come on, how could you not stay out of a discussion like that? I doubt they have sensible things to say, why wouldn't that be easy to ignore? Seems the doubt is mostly in your own mind and you feel the need to defend yourself.
Because if you are in a written convo w someone it is harder to change the subject. I assure you I didnt waste much time trying to explain, I ended up telling him sorry but you dont know what you are talking about. I find it very surprising that people who have never done any real research insist upon being right on top of it.
